Summer is coming

My News Year’s resolution was like most other people’s. and I’m guessing like most other
people, I gave up. Actually, I’m not sure I ever started, but that’s a different story. I know a few American’s read my blog, so to sum up the British weather in one word I’d say abysmal. It’s practically been raining and snowing since January, which made me stick in my winter mood. Mood makes it sound like I have been grumpy, but more the opposite. Winter makes me happy, too happy: I become overly comfortable in my body and the thought of summer and healthy eating doesn’t enter my dictionary.

Back to my New Year’s resolution. I completely forgot I vowed to be healthy, flat ‘tummied’, and eat a salad for every meal. LOL. It’s only now, as I write this I am taking in the date... 28th MARCH... summer is a bitter 3 months away. Bikini season is upon us whether we like it or not, it’s coming. Scary isn’t it? But why should it be? We can do it. Rome wasn’t built in one day; no great things were. We’ve got a solid three months to feel confident in ourselves, however that may look. At the end of the day, we’re all going to have different goals, because we’re all different people, with different bodies.

For years, I’ve been conflicted between wanting Kate Moss’ figure, to Beyoncé’s, to my own. I’m never happy, and I have decided enough is enough. I’m never going to achieve either look, because neither is healthy for MY body. I’ve scraped all my cover girl screen savers, for pictures of me and my friends on drunken nights out. I’ve never smiled more when I look at my phone. I guess the memo is to focus on what’s going on in our lives, and what’s achievable to us. Personally, I’m in my final year of university, which causes me enough stress as is. I need a way of healthy eating (not dieting) which fits into my hectic lifestyle. Below are my tips for busy bees similar to me.

Joe wick’s Fat Loss Plan.

I stumbled upon this beauty when I was ironically shopping for some Ben and Jerry’s Ice cream. I’d heard reviews about this book previously, but I can cook pretty well, so I thought what good would it be for me! What a dull way of thinking I had. It has changed my eating habits completely! I think the biggest struggle for me when trying to eat healthy, was finding a few dishes I liked and repeating them till they repulsed me. Now I look forward to cooking my well-balanced teas, and don’t find myself convincing my boyfriend that dominos isn’t actually that bad for us.
My personal favourites out of the book are:

Mango chicken burgers. (I can’t list the recipe for copy right reasons, but the clues in the name)
Thai green curry 👀
(Lastly, but not least) homemade guacamole 🥑

These are all delicious! Most of the recipes in the book take less than 20-30 mins, which is great for people on the go. 9/10 I will make double the portions for lunch the next day.

My new favourite appliance is my blender! I previously used to juice occasionally, (or more so, milkshake) so, I already have a few quick, easy, and delicious recipes.

My blender

•Half a banana

•Almond milk
•One tea spoon of Green blends powder. Get the powder here!
MIX

•Two handfuls of spinach

•One tea spoon of Green blends powder.
•100ml of apple juice
•Almond Milk (until it’s thick, or loose, however you like it)
MIX

I hope your healthy lifestyle goes well, and if not, I hope you make some amazing milkshakes along the way!
